Rad and I decided to skin up Snow King on a beautiful, warm spring day. Little did we know the adventure that was in store for us. As we were about halfway up the mountain we noticed a young girl that was flustered and a dog close to her that was bleeding and hurt. Rad and I started talking with the girl and found out that she had hit her dog with her ski and that the dog’s leg was badly hurt. Looking around and noticing that no one else had helped her up to this point we jumped on the cause. As you would expect from Rad, he was fully prepared with his med kit and a positive helpful attitude. He and I proceeded to bandage up the leg, try and stop the bleeding and then figure out how in the world we were going to get this dog down the mountain. We tried to jimmy-rig a sled from an emergency blanket…no luck. We tried a formation where we would help ski the dog down together…no luck. After 7000 annoying suggestions from the bystanders around us, Rad just grabbed the 50lb squirmy dog awkwardly in his arms and beast-mode skied it down the mountain ha!! Thankfully the girl had a truck so Rad and I jumped in, kept pressure on the wound, and got him safely to the animal hospital where they fixed him up so he was totally fine!
