The first time Rad and I went on a hike just us two, we summited the South Teton. I was so nervous it was going to be awkward because we had never spent that much time together before just the two of us. Everyone was like "it's just y'all two???" The hike ended up being SO fun and really the start of the adventures for Rad I. We ended up summiting Tweewinot and Nez Perce together as well. When Rad and I hiked Nez Perce, we knew there was technical climbing involved and I trusted Rad with this because I knew nothing about climbing. Luckily, we had no issues making it to the top, but ended up having to rappel on the way down. When we hit the rappel, Rad had to get out his phone and google how to rappel....well he may not have been googling that exact thing, but he was obviously not as confident in his abilities as he said he was in the beginning. Luckily, we made it down alive. He took a great video of me rappelling :) The last time I FaceTimed Rad he was on his way to church and I have peace knowing that he is with the Lord because he was so true to his faith and going to church every Sunday. The first big tour Rad and I did in the park together was the Dike Couloir and it was truly one of the best days of our lives. It was blue bird and perfect spring skiing. There was a long boot pack towards the end of our trek and it was pretty dang steep. I made Rad hike behind me the whole way up because I knew if I were to fall he was going to be there to catch me. Rad assured me the whole time it was going to be okay and we both made it to the top successfully. Rad was truly the most thoughtful friend. He was the first one to wish me a happy birthday every year, and always made a point to FaceTime me if I wasn't with him so he could see my face. The first spring Rad moved to Jackson, was the spring after my first winter there. We had stayed in touch while he was finishing up school at Georgia and I had talked to him about this thing called "back country skiing". I think it was one of the first weekends he was there and I had (easily) convinced him to go up Glory with me. It was a warm sunny day, we were in tank tops, and we had absolutely no back country gear because we essentially had no idea what we were doing. We got to the top and stoke was at an all time high. When we skied down, we began skiing over rocks, limbs, and probably even full trees. The ski-line was probably 100 meters above the road so we had to walk the rest of the way down. Easily one of the WORST days of skiing I've had, but one of the best days in general because I was with Rad and he was just so happy to be out there.
