The stories I have about Rad are endless, but here are some of my favorites:
In 8th grade, I was dating one of Rad's best friends, so naturally, for our first girl to ask the guy to dance I told my best friends Caroline to ask Rad to the dance. Everyone met up at a classmates' house for the picture party where Rad obviously was very popular to take photos because of his silly nature in this awkward situation. Things got even more awkward as we pilled into my parent's car for them to drive us the 30 minutes to the dance. Everyone was nervous, we went to different schools, and had only hung out as boys and girls a few times - In the incredibly awkward silence Rad blurted out, "Do y'all want to play dream house?" Everyone giggled and listened to him the rest of the car ride pointing out his favorite parts of each house we passed. It was the perfect ice breaker that everyone needed and I'll never forget it.
On my first family trip to Jackson Hole the trip started out with a fun dinner with Rad! Then the next day half of the family went fishing and the other half went into town to shop. We had to park in the parking deck. When we were leaving the deck my mom backed the rental suburban into another car causing a high tension fight between me and her. She was nervous my dad would be furious and I was frustrated with her. It was her 50th birthday trip and we felt like our day had been totally ruined. We had a few hours until we were going to meet up with fishers, so I decided the only thing that would fix our day would be to go visit Rad at his job, the alpine slide. We got there and he actually wasn't working the slide, but the bouncy trampoline. Ten minutes with him instantly had everyone laughing and in the best mood and we forgot about the silly dented bumper. That was the effect Rad had on everyone -
There was no one with a bigger heart -
